Here's my contribution to Once Upon A... Sketch January challenge! I rotated the sketch 45 degrees, and placed the journaling spot on top instead of right. The challenge theme was "Lessons learnt", and the journaling tells about my daughter seeing palm trees for the first time in her life.
The title, which is part of the journaling, reads "(I) know about palm trees". The text - and the lesson learnt - explains how, on a holiday, coming out of the airport, we saw palm trees, and I was about to start explaining to her that trees are palm trees (knowing that she hadn't seen them before, as we do not have them here at home). She stopped me and said, in a very relaxed manner, that "of course she knows about palm trees". One should not take for granted that something happening for the first time means that there is no prior knowledge...
The page is built on a single piece of 7 Dots Studio paper, which got a treated with a lot light blue Gelato, blended with water, a lot of heat embossing with Distress Powder, shade called worn lipstick (the text stamps, the typewriter and the bottom of the page), some fussy cutting (the window), some pearl maker pearls, and plenty of black rub-ons. It was nice to play along. I enjoyed the combination of the sketch and the journaling theme.
Todella kaunis! Ihana värimaailma!
VastaaPoistaI love how you have extended the scene and feel of the photos onto the layouts with paints and inks and stamping.... then the pop of the red flowers. Love your take on the sketch and you are so right in your journalling. A lesson learnt indeed. Thanks for playing along with us at OUAS this month.
